Active ingredients
Lower heads contain flavonoids, glycosides, diterpene alcohol; dye, bitter, mineral substances, fatty acids, ascorbic acid (about 1.6 mg% in a dry material), up to 16 mg% carotene, inositol, up to 0.04 % essential oil. Dwarf everlast inflorescences contain flavonoids (salipurposide, isosalipurposide, naringenin, apigenin), bitters, tannins, sterols, alkaloid inositol, carotene, vitamins C, K, essential oil, minerals and dyes.
Healing properties
This plant, like many yellow-flowering herbs, is recommended for use in improving liver function, promoting bile secretion. It is advisable to use dwarf everlast not only prophylactically, but also in patients with liver or bile diseases.
In addition to these properties, dwarf everlast also have a digestive-improving, antiseptic (killing microorganisms) effect. It is often used to remove sand and small stones from the gallbladder and its ducts. “Sun gold” (translated from Greek) stimulates the excretion of urine, suppresses spasms, inflammation, stimulates the excretion of digestive juices, which improves the absorption of nutrients.
In folk medicine, dwarf everlast is also used to remove worms from the body, against jaundice, gastritis, gastrointestinal diseases, pulmonary tuberculosis. Dwarf everlast preparations have a tonic, disinfectant, bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effect, promote bile secretion, reduce the concentration of bile acids and bilirubin.
Preparation of the decoction: pour a tablespoon of dried flowers into a glass of boiling water, heat for half an hour, cool for 10 minutes and strain. Take half a glass 2-3 times a day, before meals. Stored in a cool place, the decoction is good for a couple of days.
Preparation of tea: you will need: calendula flowers (7 parts), calendula flowers (9 parts), yarrow grass (5 parts) and St. John’s wort (7 parts). Put one tablespoon of the herbal mixture in a thermos and fill it with a glass of boiling water. Close the thermos tightly and keep it for a couple of hours. Take one tablespoon several times a day, before meals. Suitable for those suffering from gall bladder and liver diseases.
Do not use:
• During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• For children younger than 12 years;
• Do not use with narrowing of the bile ducts.
