The leaves contain up to 417 mg% vitamin C, 225 mg% vitamin B2, 43 mg% carotene, bitter glycoside taraxacin; carotenoids: taraxanthin, flavoxanthin, lutein, violaxanthin; triterpene alcohols: arnidiol, faradiol and other substances.
