Active ingredients
Rosette leaves of common yarrow contain 0.123%, stem leaves – 0.194% and inflorescences – up to 0.396% essential oil. It consists mainly of azulenes (up to 32% in rosette leaves, up to 44% in stem leaves, up to 279 mg% in inflorescences), as well as pinene, borneol, esters, camphor, thujone, cineole (8-10%), caryophyllene. The herb also contains flavonoids, tanins. In addition, the raw material contains alkaloids: achillein, stachydrin; formic, acetic and isovaleric acids; alcohols, tannides, inulin, asparagine, resins, bitter substances, up to 130 γ carotene, up to 80 mg% of vitamins C and K, up to 13.8% ash.
