Active ingredients

Dill is a great multivitamin vegetable, because fresh dill contains a lot of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) – even up to 50-240 mg, 1-12 mg of carotene, B vitamins, flavonoids, minerals: potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron etc.

Healing properties

Dill is a great dietary supplement for anaemic, debilitated people.
Dry dill fruits containing up to 4 percent essential oil formed from several terpenes and fatty oils are used as medicines. Decoctions of seeds and dried leaves dilate blood vessels, reduce arterial blood pressure, promote bile and urine excretion, reduce bloating, suppress cough, help fight bacteria. Dill helps with insomnia, neurasthenic headaches. Used for constipation, prophylaxis of haemorrhoids.
Dill seeds and leaf infusions are used to treat purulent wounds.
Dill herb and seed tea increases milk production for nursing women.
Pregnant women can develop diarrhoea from dill, dill can reflectologically trigger uterine contractions, which can lead to miscarriage. Dill reduces muscle tone, so it is better not to use it in case of hypotension and incontinence.

Dill seed decoction is recommended to drink in case of flatulence, colic, dyspepsia, intestinal worms, inflammation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, against hiccups, cough, asthma, bronchitis, fever, ulcers, skin diseases, spleen disorders, liver diseases, urinary tract infections, and heart failure.
