Field horsetail herb contains 5 % triterpene saponin equisetin, alkaloids, flavonoids, 278 mg% ascorbic acid, carotene, malic, oxalic, aconitic acids, about 16 % proteins, up to 3.5 % fat, tannins, bitter substances, resins, 17 % mineral substances. Dried field horsetail herb has a faint smell and a sour taste. It is rich in alkaloids, flavonoids, vitamin C, carotene, tannins, bitter and mineral substances, resins and soluble silicic acid salts, which are essential for many processes in our body, such as improving metabolism, strengthening the immune system.

Healing properties

Horsetail preparations have anti-inflammatory, astringent and urinary excretion promoting effects.
